Arrived at the high school a little before 1 pm. Waited for Greyson to get out of school. Linnie and Hayden drove up. Left the school, stopped at Betty’s for one last potty stop, then headed down the road toward Yosemite.
Portland traffic was stop and go. Had to get off at Boones Ferry Rd south of Portland for a potty break. Sally had a Arby’s sandwich, then back in the car and off again. Stopped in south Eugene for fuel, then on the road again. Made it to Ashland where we had dinner at Wendy’s and gassed up the van. Got to Castle Crags State Park in northern California by 10 PM. Found a campsite. Sally and I set up the tent and got Hayden and Greyson settled in the van. It was awesome to be sleeping on the PCT again, as it passes through this campground. Felt the old magic. Sleep.
