The forecast was terrible and the actual weather was close to the prediction. It rained most of the day. What did we do? Sat in our room, in the morning making plans for the rest of our trip. The Pope hasn’t called yet so we thinking we will walk to the Vatican on Thursday and then take the subway to the place we found near the Tiburtini railway and bus station. Then we will catch the 7:15am bus to Salerno, arriving about 11:00. From there will take the local buses out onto the Amalfi coast for the weekend. We arranged and made reservations for these jumps this morning. We also secured our lodgings for Sunday night and Monday night in Rome. We tour the Vatican Museum Monday morning at 8:00am-right at their opening. We have an appointment to pass through the holy doors at noon.
We stepped out in the afternoon when there was a lull in the rain and walked to the town mall, smaller than the Lewis County Mall, but two floors. Most of the downstairs is a fabulous grocery store. It poured while we were inside, then relented when we were ready to walk home.
We bought what we thought was lasagna for dinner but turned out to be an egg plant dish. It was good. We added broccoli and some bow tie pasta I’m carrying. Of course somewhere over the course of the day I added to the blog.
