León is such an amazing little city. We cooked scrambled eggs for breakfast on the sparse kitchen that was part of the hostel. We had slept in. Sally and I wandered over to the cathedral to go on the tour of it. Becky’s shin splints kept her lying in bed for the morning. We stopped in a pharmacy along the way and found the tiger balm that Becky was seeking to releive her shin pain. The cathedral was as amazing as it was four years ago.
In the late afternoon we met up with Nicki and Tom in front of the cathedral for drinks. The wind had really started to blow. It had been a pleasant afternoon, but now the wind was blowing empty wine glasses off tables, smashing them on the cobblestones. We headed back to our apartment about 8:00pm. We woke up about 10:30 to visit the cathedral at night when it is lit up. We were back in bed about 11:30pm. Great day off.
